Good Divorce Week 2021

Good Divorce Week 2021 (29 Nov - 3 Dec), promoted by resolution, involved ‘kickstarting a national conversation about how parents can embrace a child-focused approach to separation’.

Resolution state that ‘Family relationships have come under immense pressure since the start of the pandemic and we know that the children of parents who separate can find the experience one of the most challenging and impactful of their lives.’

For children, having separated parents is considered an ‘adverse childhood experience.’ These are stressful childhood experiences which are traumatic, possibly impacting child development and ability to thrive. Having adverse childhood experiences can lead to negative health outcomes in adulthood.

Resolution, is a  community of 6,500 family justice professionals, committed to ensuring positive dispute resolution which works for families and children.
