Parenting through separation - finding your way through to a new role

Resolution have produced a guide on parenting through and beyond divorce, family breakup or separation.

Resolution’s guide aims to give parents access to information and support that helps them throughout their parenting journey, through separation, divorce and beyond.

You may have heard of Resolution. At Kent and Surrey Family Resolution we are accredited members of this body, a group of family justice professionals (lawyers, mediators, therapists and coaches) from around the country. Resolution work with families and individuals to resolve issues in a constructive way, seeking alternatives to going to court, where possible. This can often prove less stressful and save time and money. It can also have a better outcome for children involved. It’s not always possible in all cases, but responding to individual needs puts clients at the heart of the process.

The webpages include helpful guidance on extended family, co-parenting, the legal position, adjusting to your new role, how to support any children and communication. It also talks through different types of disputes that may arise and what to expect from the legal process of divorce or separation.
