The BBC investigated parents and carers stating they had been denied access to their children for months because of the impact of coronavirus on the family court system.

Courts minister Chris Philp said judges were “working to prioritise cases where the need is most acute.” He also said the courts service was investing £142m to improve remote technology and had identified 10 additional sites for temporary so-called ‘Nightingale courts’ to allow for better social distancing.
