Celebrate National Libraries week! 7th to 12th of October 2019
Libraries Week is a week-long celebration of the nation’s much-loved libraries, this year highlighting the different ways they can help people of all ages through digital support, services and activities.
Libraries week takes place this week, 7th to 12th of October 2019 and with this celebration we look at the role of libraries, including those in in the digital world.
Libraries week take place annually and was set up with the initial aim of highlighting the immense importance of libraries to individuals, families and communities.
Librarians and libraries can play a huge role in transforming lives, encouraging communities and enriching prospects.
Libraries Week 2019 will celebrate and explore how libraries are engaging communities through technology, building digital skills and confidence, encouraging digital participation and inclusion, supporting health, wellbeing and education and supporting local business and enterprise.
As well as encouraging and enriching lives, libraries are safe havens, which can provide welcome refuge from troubles or difficulties. They are also vanguards of support and information as to options and choices. Most libraries now offer internet access and subscribe to periodicals, the former which can often help provide contacts for family Law, solicitors and mediators.
Libraries are to be celebrated for empowering us to be aware of the choices we have, as well as choosing which path we wish to take and how to access it.
Libraries are invaluable for combatting loneliness, resources for wellbeing, including dietary and nutritional guidance and many libraries now offer NHS health checkups. Furthermore, libraries hold important information on your options in the law courts and solicitors offer, or for mediation or arbitration options. Everyone is welcome and libraries are free to join.
