Divorces can still be processed online in the usual way and solicitors are open for business, even if that is remotely.
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused huge changes to our lives, something unthinkable just a couple of months ago. It is a stressful time for all with the uncertainty, especially if one is already going through a big life changes such as divorce.
It can be complicated with additional concerns, such as lockdown forcing separating couples to remain together under one roof, which may not be easy or desirable.
Divorces can continue online as usual, in principle, all the way to decree absolute. However should the court’s input be required, the process may be delayed. When a court hearing does take place, it will be a remote hearings, and only if it can be a fair hearing.
