Covid-19 information booklet for Children and Young People

The Family Justice Young People’s Board have produced a downloadable pdf booklet packed full of great advice for being at home, staying in touch with family members and what to do if feeling unsafe, worried or unwell.

The Family Justice Young People’s Board (FJYPB) are a group of over 50 children and young people aged between seven and 25 years old who live across England and Wales. All have either had direct experience of the family justice system or have an interest in children’s rights and the family courts.

You can access the downloadable children and young people’s booklet on the CAFCASS website HERE.

The booklet, with input from other children and young people involved in the family court system, contains tips on how to spend time with family and friends, answers to questions on the court process and what will happen, how the family court advisor can help, who to talk to if feeling worried or concerned and tips for staying busy whilst isolating or at home.

CAFCASS has this reassuring message for children and young people involved in the court system:

Please try not to worry. If you want to talk to someone at Cafcass about your court hearing or if you are worried about things that are happening at home or where you are living, then please do contact your Family Court Adviser or your social worker who can help you. You can check out the Cafcass website at www.cafcass.gov.uk or call them on 0300 456 4000.
