Family Rights Group publish "Top Tips for kinship carers" to help children maintain relationships during covid-19

A kinship carer is also known as a family and friends carer. They support a child who cannot live with their parents.

Social distancing may mean that children are less able to maintain relationships with those they do not live with. During this anxious time, social interaction, sharing worries or concerns, being loved and being able to contact those close to us and ask questions are more important than ever.

This may exacerbated when a child cannot or does not live with their parents.

They may feel extremely isolated, despite all efforts of their kinship carer.

This leaflet gives information about special guardianship orders, child arrangement orders and contact orders, residence orders, family and friends foster carers and also informal care arrangements.

The Family Rights Group is a charity whose aim is to help children thrive in their families and the community. It was founded by a group of lawyers, social workers and academics.
