New Statutory guidance for face to face providers on Reducing Parental Conflict published

Reducing conflict in parental relationships.

New statutory guidance to face-to-face providers on reducing parental conflict has been published by the Department for Work and Pensions. The aim is to meet the commitment: “to work to eliminate child poverty and introduce better measures to drive real change in children’s’ lives, by recognising the root causes of poverty.”

It responds to evidence that exposure to frequent, intense and poorly-resolved Parental Conflict leads to poor outcomes for children (education, employment and health.)

It focuses on separating couples and those who are still together but face high levels of conflict, acknowledging the need for amicable, fair and positive dispute resolution to create healthier and happier futures for children involved.
