£270 million to go to charity following lengthy divorce case

The Guardian has reported that a billionaire has been ordered to pay £270m to charity following a divorce settlement

A Hedge fund billionaire has been ordered to pay £270m to a charity setup by his ex-wife following a divorce case.

In 2002 the now divorced couple set up the CIFF charity to help children in developing countries together. CIFF is one of the biggest charities in the world with assets of about $4 billion. The assets mostly result from the profits of the ex-husband’s business.

The dispute over the charity cash emerged after the couple’s divorce in 2014.
