Law Society guidance - "Don't break quarantine to go to court"
The Law Society have stated that lawyers, including those attending family courts, should not place others at risk by attending if they are unwell.
Although many court cases are now being heard remotely, some family courts remain open for face-to-face hearings.
Earlier this week the Bar Council announced that ‘after significant lobbying’ the UK goverment has confirmed that barristers, solicitors and other court users who have to self-isolate for 14 days can break quarantine to attend a tribunal or hearing.
These quarantine restrictions apply to those returning from non-exempt countries who therefore would otherwise be required to quarantine for a fortnight.
We remain vigilant and observant of all the latest health and safety guidance from The Law Society and UK Government. However at present we are UK based and as such have no plans to quarantine in the near future and are available to attend family courts when necessary.
