Ministry of Justice headquarters in London turned into Family Court

A Ministry of Justice press conference room has been turned into a courtroom and will deal with family cases.

Nightingale courts have been set up to ease pressure on the justice system as a result of coronavirus lockdown. The pressure on the family court system has meant that many family cases have been set back, or delayed by the pandemic.

This was further pressure on a family court system that was already pushed to the limit in many areas.

The press room has begun functioning as a Nightingale court, hearing cases that are not usually open to the public.
