Innovation and sensitivity celebrated in recent family law court custody case

The High Court judge praised all involved in a sensitive case where a mother was able to type her answers to cross-examination.

This highly unusual recent court case development has shown that new methods can be successful in establishing justice in the family law courts.

The Judge, His Honour Judge Moradifar, stated that: “…this approach proved to be highly successful.”

The case, C (No.2) (Children: Welfare), allowed a mother to type her answers to questions, the first known case where evidence has been heard this way. Such new and empathic developments highlight the role of sensitivity and assessing needs in the pursuit of justice.
