Solicitors now seen as being affordable after new rules on transparency

In a survey of people who have recently used legal services it has been discovered that solicitors are now being seen as affordable.

The survey was commissioned by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), which is the regulatory body for solicitors in the UK. An SRA survey of 3,539 users of legal services found that just 10% believed solicitors to be an unaffordable option after accessing published information on price. This was in comparison to half of consumers who had assumed that solicitors were unaffordable before the new transparency rules came into force.

Since December 2018, law firms have had to follow transparency rules, whereby we publish ‘transparent’ price information on our website about certain services. Since November 2019 we have also had to publish our complaints policy and display our SRA clickable logo (which you can see at the foot of our website pages). The logo confirms that we are registered with the SRA as regulated solicitors and demonstrates the high quality service you can expect from us.
