Law Gazette reports paper-based probate applications extension
The shift to HMCTS online service for processing probate applications has been extended to allow for more paper-based applications.
The idea is to allow more time for solicitors to adapt to the new online HMCTS system.
In a meeting with the Law Society, HMCTS acknowledged that there are still issues with the online system. The extension will allow them to resolve these, while allowing more time for solicitors to sign up to the new MyHMCTS online system.
It is essential to be sensitive as well as professional when dealing with probate applications, the situation in the wake of a bereavement requires understanding as empathy, as do all aspects of family law.
