Separation and divorce are not easy processes. Help is on hand to support separating couples get the help they need to move to a better future. This involves supporting any children involved.

Many couples going through a separation or divorce do not know that family mediation is an option for them, or are unaware of the advantages of mediation over its alternatives, such as going through the family court.

If you have children who are over the age of 10, family mediators will discuss with you their rights to have their views taken into account. This is called hearing the voice of the child/children.

This is an important part of the family mediation process designed to support the health and well-being of the children. It also works to help parents come to good workable decisions which can be maintained.
