Infographic reveals who is coming to family courts in England
The Nuffield Family Justice Observatory has published its second in a series of reports on private law children cases in England and Wales.
The study uses population-level data for England to examine trends in demand and develops a demographic profile of the families involved, as well as the patterns of orders applied for.
It found that the trend in the rate of private law applications has been modestly upwards over the period (2007/08 to 2019/20), although overall use of the court remains low.
