Letter to Law gazette exposes the geographical 'Divorce Divide' in the UK
A thoughtful letter to the Law Gazette examines the differences how divorce principles may be applied across the UK.
Although the same laws and principles of course apply to everyone when dealing with divorce, they may be applied in very different ways, not least due to differences in the price of housing across the UK.
The letter makes important points, including that after a divorce or separation, it is ‘much harder to rehouse in a property of a similar size and standard to that of the family home, given the high price of properties found in the south’.
