Checking for scams involving family solicitors - Solicitors Regulatory Authority advice

The Action Fraud website define fraud as ‘when trickery is used to gain a dishonest advantage, which is often financial, over another person. Cyber crime is any criminal act dealing with computers and networks’.

There are some steps you can take to protect yourself from fraud, especially when using services from the family legal profession. Sadly, during the pandemic there has been an upturn in the number of people calling themselves regulated solicitors, when they are not. This includes family firms.

The SRA (Solicitor’s Regulatory Authority) produce scam alerts to warn you about people who call themselves solicitors but are not. You can click on our SRA verified logo on our website (see in the footer at the bottom of the page) to check we are who we say we are.
