Digital divorce from this year according to HM Courts and Tribunals (HMCTS).
We already use My HMCTS, the online case management tool for solicitors to process divorce paperwork for our clients digitally. You should not notice any change to the traditional proceedings, which had been paper-based.
From 13th September 2021 HMCTS will be mandating the digital divorce process.
This means in practice that family solicitors now process divorce applications using the digital online service rather than using the previous traditional paper ‘D8’ form.
