An audience with Lady Hale

‘In Conversation with Lady Hale,” an event held last Friday gave opportunity to hear about Lady Hale’s extraordinary path to becoming the most senior Judge in the country.

The event was held to mark the opening of Resolution’s Family Practice Conference 2021.

Resolution are a community of family justice professionals who work with families and individuals to resolve issues in innovative and constructive ways, keeping welfare of children and parents in mind.

Lady Hale has published her book ‘Spider Woman - A Life’ examining her path through to becoming the first woman to serve on the newly created Supreme Court.

In 1984, Lady Hale had been at the forefront of change and increased diversity in the law, becoming the first woman and the youngest person to be appointed to the Law Commission, where she oversaw critical reforms in family law and mental disability law. She was appointed Deputy President of the Supreme Court in 2013, and its President from 2017 to 2020.
