Parenting following Divorce or Separation
Resolution have produced a helpful information resource for clients who are parents, in order to help them and their children through the separation process.
It aims to give parents access to information and support that helps them ‘throughout their parenting journey, through separation, divorce and beyond’.
Part of supporting clients through divorce or separation, particularly when children are involved, means setting a family-focussed agenda.
Some of the issues discussed include:
The end of the relationship – what does it feel like and what will happen now? What should my first steps be now that I have separated from my partner? Your new co-parenting role How important is the voice of the child? What are the types of dispute that might arise between separating parents?
Separating or divorcing as parents is not easy and can feel lonely or overwhelming. This new resource can help dissipate some fears and offer signposting and clarification.
